School Council uses authentic leadership to seek out and connect parental voice thereby fostering an engaged community that nurtures its' learners.

That each child will be empowered to make a difference through the intentional support and caring of the school community.

ADVISORY ROLE:  We discuss many school issues such as school safety, school calendar, the school education plan, school hours, and student health.

SUPPORT: Some highlights of our involvement last year include:

  • Interact with RVS Administration on Key Issues
  • Coordinating volunteers in the school
  • Supper for Staff on Parent-Teacher Interview Nights
  • Staff Appreciation Week
  • Financial support for Performing Arts
  • Financial support for Artist in Residence Program
  • Hot Dogs for Sports Day
  • Poinsettia Fundraiser for Adopt-a-Family
  • Funded a portion of Swimming Lessons
  • In-Line Skating Program

School Council meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM in the staff room and via Zoom (families can find the Zoom link in The Bowers Buzz, our school community newsletter).
